Kangaroos cause damage to fences, compete with domestic livestock for food and water, and graze and trample crops and vineyards. Some kangaroos threaten or harass humans.
Wombats cause problems on farms by damaging fencing, therefore allowing livestock to get out. Wombat burrows in pastures can be hazardous to vehicles and stock, and may weaken dam walls. They often burrow into creeks, rivers and dams causing erosion and damaging the waterways. Wombats can also damage the foundations of buildings by burrowing underneath.
